When you are going through something hard, you have the option to just be in the hard.
You don’t have to pile on by adding thoughts like,
This should not be happening.
Why is this happening?
They never should have started doing that.
I should never have gone there.
I should not have tried that.
Of course you want to learn any lessons you can to prevent bringing hardship on yourselves going forward.
But understanding that there is opportunity amongst the hard to find out what you’re made of, to have a little more compassion going forward, to help someone else in the future, helps bring meaning and purpose to the pain.
And that’s exactly the point…to learn, to grow and to become.
Nothing has gone wrong here…it’s all going to work perfectly in our favor if we let it.
